You’ll be bowled over by this hidden treasure in the heart of Tamworth!
Have you ever considered trying Crown Green Bowls? If so then join The Mayor of Tamworth and pop along between 12 noon and 5pm on 13th July to the “green door” opposite the car park in Ladybank. You will receive a very friendly welcome, some expert tuition, loan of bowls and some fun games. The setting beneath the castle is probably the best in Tamworth, and there is also a bar! Open to both young and old, visitors are welcome to take the weight off their feet, sit and watch the action, sample drinks from our bar, and join in the fun.
The location is stunning, and the bar is, to say the least, value for money. In winter months, members have been known to use the clubhouse as a home-from-home when shopping, playing in the park with kids, or just somewhere to come and have a cup of coffee and a chat. Among the well known members of the bowling club were the Prime Minister, the Right Hon. Sir Robert Peel, Member of Parliament for Tamworth!
Bowls is gentle exercise, and a fun or competitive activity. You'll be alongside good company, 200 years of history with a little fresh air thrown in for good measure.
