St Editha's Church Tamworth Tower

14th September: St. Edithas Close, Tamworth, Staffordshire, B79 7DA

A chance to climb the rare double helix staircase of St Editha's Church, Tamworth, on Saturday, 14th September between 11:00 and 14:00.


Viking Raids at Polesworth Abbey

Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th September: High Street, Polesworth, Tamworth, B78 1DU

Vikings raided Polesworth Abbey in 827, and they are back this year! Vikings of Middle England provide Saxon/Viking Village activities and enact the raid and The Big Battle for Polesworth each day.


Second-hand Heritage Open Day

7th September: Middleton, Tamworth, Warwickshire, B78 2AE

Heritage, built to last. At Middleton Hall and Gardens, environmental sustainability and restoring cultural heritage are things embedded into our restoration history. Join our volunteers for a second-hand heritage day!


Coracle Connections

Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th September: The Old Swimming Baths, Tamworth, B79 7ND

What is a Coracle?… a small, rounded, lightweight boat, constructed of lengths of ash or willow and woven like a basket. Join Coracle Connections to find out more, watch a coracle making demonstration and even try a free, coracle ride!



Sir John Moore Foundation Museum

15th September: 101 Top Street, Appleby Magna, Swadlincote, Leicestershire, DE12 7AH

Museum about Appleby Magna, Sir John Moore, and other local heroes. With exciting new exhibitions about the local area and education in the Industrial Revolution, and co-produced works with the local community.
