Keep Your BBQ Tip-Top

BBQ Week falls from 27th May - 2nd June this year so stock up on shrimps!

By the end of this month warmer weather should be upon us (fingers crossed!). We’ll be turning our thoughts to dusting off the BBQ and dining al fresco! If, like us, your BBQ still has the ghosts of last years sausages stuck to it, here are 4 hacks to clean your grill…

Steam: Fill a regular, metal tin from your kitchen with water and boil it on the grill. The steam helps the grime come right off!

Beer: Pour half a bottle of beer over the warm grill. The beer will break down the oil and grease, and it will come off easily!

Vinegar: Spray vinegar all over the grill, then take a balled up piece of aluminum foil and use to scrape the grime right off.

Onion: Cut an onion in half, put it on the end of your grilling fork and rub it all over the grill. The enzymes from the onion will help break down the oil and the grease.

Experts suggest replacing your brush regularly, and inspecting both the grill grates and your food for lose bristles as metal brush bristles left behind on the grill are a huge safety hazard.

Check Gas Supply and Connections: If your BBQ is a gas one, make sure all gas connections and hoses are tight and free of leaks. Check the supply of gas and ensure there is enough gas in the tank before you start cooking. Order more from www.festivalgas.co.uk if you need to!
