Tamworth Strollers, a fully FA affiliate club, offer people the chance to play the beautiful game at a slower pace. If you want to carry on playing after the Vets league, this could be what you are looking for!
Anyone aged around 50 and upwards will be welcome to come along and give it a try, there is no one too old to play. It has great benefits for people's health, fitness and meeting and making friends with similar interests.
The club was started back in January 2018 with Council led sessions at Wilnecote Leisure Centre for 10 weeks. Due to its success the sessions have been run by the players on a volunteer basis which has moved the club forward. The club, originally named ‘Wilnecote Strollers’, has been rebranded over the summer to ‘Tamworth Strollers’, ready for the new season and to give the team a more inclusive name as they are playing for the whole town!
All abilities are welcome, offering both social and competitive games, no-one is ever turned away! We are working with Tamworth Council to launch Ladies Walking Football sessions, starting early September. If you’d like to play competitive games we have entered into the BCWFL for a 4th season, with 3 different age groups, over 50’s 57’s and over 63’s.
